County commissioners hear from mayors, CART’M

When Tillamook County commissioners held their May 15 meeting in Manzanita – the last evening meeting until fall – they got reports from the mayors of the “tri-cities” (Manzanita, Nehalem and Wheeler) and from CART’M, North County’s unique recycling center-cum-thrift store-cum-transfer station.

Way to Go!

The City of Rockaway Beach, Oregon

Charles Stewart will be promoted to Sergeant on May 24 at 10:00 AM in the Rockaway Beach City Council Chambers, 276 S. Highway 101. Sergeant Stewart joined the Rockaway Beach Police Department as a police recruit on June 16, 2008. Stewart distinguished himself first as a police officer, willing to put forward the effort to improve his personal skill set and then as an instructor assisting others along the way. Stewart has received several operational commendations which recognize both his law enforcement skills and his compassion while dealing with victims and suspects. His calm but firm demeanor has been credited with defusing several situations before they got out of hand. I am very proud of Sergeant Stewart and if you are unable to attend the May 17 event, please congratulate him on his accomplishments at your earliest opportunity.
